15 Years earlier
“There is still a possibility, its not like the jeans will disappear. Who knows what she’ll be,” said dr. Philer.
“Tell Mary-Julia about this, it’s my time. Jules will take her for me. Can I ask you something?” Maria said in an unsure depressed voice.
“Anything at all,” he said.
“Why this generation. There has been other mix’s before us,” she said.
“I’m afraid there is only one explanation. And you know that is I assume.” He said in a quivery and hollow voice that sounded as if his soul had left his body.
“You mean th-th-the prophesy,” she said
“She can’t know what she is until the right time…” the screaming of agony coming from my mother interrupted him.
“Its time protect them…” she trailed off into the silence.
“Them?” he asked stunned as if he had been electrocuted.
“Twins,” she barely whispered in a croak.
“Why didn’t you tell me? This could affect everything,” he said. She didn’t respond. That’s when he was sure that it was the end.
The room became a blur, slowly but surely. It seemed as if I was watching TV when the satellite went static. Then there was this annoying beeping sound…then my favorite song. That’s when I realized that it was all a dream and it was time to get ready for school. Inside I was laughing at myself. I never knew my imagination was so wild. Almost to wild.
I really didn’t want to go to school but I had no other choice. I hadn’t slept well. Also I didn’t get to go to bed on time, because I told Jules that I had finished my homework when I hadn’t. I hate it when she bugs me about my homework. I know it’s my responsibility. But for the love of god I haven’t turned in any late homework ever.
I can tell I’m not going to have a good day. I just have a feeling. Besides I’m not going to get any work done in class with this dream bugging me. Note to self, imagination good, over active, imagination bad.
Chapter 1
My name is Alex Sarehfelli. I’m a 16 years old sophomore who goes to Sonoma High School. I have an awesome boyfriend, Jason Conroy, we are going to get the leading roles in our school play, I hope. Our school play is Romeo and Juliet. I keep listing all these things because today is going to be a crappy day.
Because waking to your nanny slash housekeeper banging on your door is not pleasant.
“Alex Maria Sarehfelli I swear if you don’t get up…” said Mary-Julia. But everyone calls her Jules. She’s short, thin, and has brown hair that is as thick as; well I have no idea but its thick. She has blue eyes and when she looks at you its like she is burning a hole in your eyes or is watching your saddest memory while grinning and laughing like a maniac who belongs in a nut house. I yelled that I was up. Then began picking out my attire. I picked a baby blue shirt, with one short sleeve and the other a spaghetti strap.
I never really keep up with fashion. I mean I have all the “cool” clothes, but I don’t really care. When my parents left I got a small fortune. Jules isn’t really my guardian, but I live with her and not with my aunt Shelby. She is constantly away on business. She works at Sarehfelli decor. Which is a home makeover company.
I went to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. My hair is a brown auburn color and is sum what thick, but it’s my body that makes me look thirteen. I have to wear skintight jeans and a bone tight shirt just to see any of my curves at all. That is if I any at all, I’m not sure if I even have any. I’m not sure. I have pale white skin, making it impossible for me to ever wear mascara or eye liner.
“Alex! You better be done in five minutes, or else,” Jules hollered through the door. I grabbed my asthma pill and my lipstick, actually lip-gloss, and leaped out the door. Nearly forgetting my lunch. I said goodbye, picked up my backpack, and left.
I decided to take the short cut today. As soon as I did I knew I shouldn’t have. I had been told not to go into the forest. I just felt like disobeying. The forest smelt of pine, it had a light mist, and it was very foggy. All of a sudden it hit me today was April twenty-third, my birthday. I felt off, you know not myself. Then I herd it, the painful cry for help. Next thing I know there is a girl about my age running from a man. She looked a lot like me but taller and had more curves. And the weird thing was I could see her and the man perfectly even in the fog. I was officially beginning to freak out. I must be hallucinating. Then a voice in my head says your not hallucinating and you know it. Think about the dream you had. That woman that died was your mom. She said twins can you guess who I am? Okay I was jogging, but now I was in a full on sprint. The voice in my head said I’m your brother. Happy sixteenth birthday. If you really want to know who you are come to the old abandoned movie theatre. I must be insane.
“Okay, Alex” I said to myself, “think of something else,” I slightly mumbled. Okay how could Jules forget my birthday? More importantly how could I forget my birthday? I was so tired and I still had a mile left. So I thought about nothing but getting to school, and being so fast no one could see me. I shut my eyes and concentrated I had barley taken three breathes and had been running for five seconds. And I was already at school. So let me get this straight, I’ve seen a girl getting beaten that wasn’t there, I’ve herd a strange voice in my head, I had a dream about my mom who died in child birth, and I can run a million times faster than I should be able to. Great! This is going to be one hell of a day at school. There are only to good things that could come out of today. Those things are that I could get the leading role for the school play and all this stuff could be explained by me getting my period. Like I’ve said many times and I’ll say it again. I felt like time was going to freeze over, like every else knew something and they treated me as if I were frozen, I felt like everyone except me needed to freeze so that I could figure this out, and I felt like my life was frozen times three. I needed professional help. To bad that isn’t going to happen. I’ve refused therapy for over seven years. I don’t like talking. And if I went now it would raise to many suspicions about me. I can’t risk it. School, no life was going to suck until I get this little ”issue” taken care of. I knew one thing for sure; I could not have any contact with my aunt what so ever. She knows when I’m not in a good mood or when I’m distracted. I need to keep this between three people. Me, Myself, and I.
_____________________
I couldn’t make up my mind whether the voice was just my imagination, or if it was real. I mean is it just a coincidence that I had a dream about my mom and her saying she was having twins? Then I hear a voice claiming to be my brother. Hey, my stomach hurts maybe I’ll start my period.
After all I’m sixteen and have only had my period once. I try to avoid the topic as much as I can. And yet it still comes up.
I decided to go to school. My boyfriend Jason, who moved from Chicago Illinois to my home town of Sonoma California, would be upset because we are suppose to audition for the leading roles in our school play. So I arrived for school earlier than expected because of my freaky speed thing. I had an extra half hour. I decided to go to the library and do a brush up on my scene. I already knew it backwards, forwards, sideways, and by heart.
“Hello Debra,” I said in a sort of a hum.
“Hi Alex. May I help you with anything?” Debra, the librarian, chimed awkwardly.
“As a matter of fact yes. I was wondering if I could read my lines, and if you could say Romeo’s lines?” I asked nervously. Debra is short and stout with green hair and has red ringlets in her hair. She is extremely moody, which is why I was nervous to ask her.
“Sure, open the book to your scene,” she said in a tone that sounded sum what excited.
“Wilt thou be gone? It is not yet near day:
It was the nightingale, and not the lark,
That pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear;
Nightly she sings on yon pomegranate-tree:” I said in a satisfactory voice.
“It was the lark, the herald of the morn,
No nightingale: look, love, what envious streaks
Do lace the severing clouds in yonder east:
Night's candles are burnt out, and jocund day
Stands tiptoe on the misty mountain tops.
I must be gone and live, or stay and die.
Believe me, love, it was the nightingale,” she said a little better that me, but I was impressed she sounded very manly.
“Yon light is not day-light, I know it, I:
It is some meteor that the sun exhales,
To be to thee this night a torch-bearer,
And light thee on thy way to Mantua:
Therefore stay yet; thou need'st not to be gone.”
“Let me be ta'en, let me be put to death;
I am content, so thou wilt have it so.
I'll say yon grey is not the morning's eye,
'Tis but the pale reflex of Cynthia's brow;
Nor that is not the lark, whose notes do beat
The vaulty heaven so high above our heads:
I have more care to stay than will to go:
Come, death, and welcome! Juliet wills it so.”
“It is, it is: hie hence, be gone, away!
It is the lark that sings so out of tune,
Straining harsh discords and unpleasing sharps.
Some say the lark makes sweet division;
This doth not so, for she divideth us:
Some say the lark and loathed toad change eyes,
O, now I would they had changed voices too!
Since arm from arm that voice doth us affray,
Hunting thee hence with hunt's-up to the day,
O, now be gone; more light and light it grows
How is't, my soul? let's talk; it is not day.” “More light and light; more dark and dark our woes! Wait, Alex now it’s the nurses line.” “Oh, I see. Well that’s enough. Thank you,” I said enthusiastically. I was about to leave the library when Jason entered through the back door. “Jason,” I yelled so loud that I managed to receive an shhh from Debra.
I ran up and gave him a hug. Only to notice that he had a bloody nose and had a black eye. I gasped at the blood.
“Jay what happened,” I asked trying to sound concerned. It was no shock when Jason was hurt. I mean he is such a klutz.
“ I ran into a guy who clamed to be your twin bother, he said to stay away from you. I told him no that I wouldn’t go away then he hit me. He actually looks like you.” He said fast. He also sounded concerned for me. All of a sudden everything became a blur. I was falling. Jason picked me up and I assume he was heading to the nurse’s office. Then it was like all my senses were unplugged. I must have been unconscious. I arose in the office.
“Hey. Are you awake?” Jason asked quietly.
“Yah,” I replied, “How long have I been out?”
“Five ten minutes. That scared you didn’t it?” he asked.
“Yes, I said.
“Well do you want to go to drama or do you want to go home?” he asked sleepily.
“I want to go I have my lines down. Come on let’s go,” I said trying to be excited.
He nodded, helped me up, and then we were off.
I was beginning to think that Jason and I had no chance. My friends, Bella, Jake, Chloe, Dimitri, Zoey, and Damien, had all gone in pairs. They were all amazing.
“Alex and Jason,” Mr. Hathaway said in a boring tone.
“We are performing act three scene five,” I said with some acid.
We said our lines, I was as dramatic as ever, Jason’s voice was as charming as ever, and I thought we might actually have a chance at the roles. Then my own personal devil walked up onto the stage. She was always trying to compete with me. It was like I did something to her. Without even knowing it. I swore I would win our little battle someday. Which is why when she passed my desk trying to flirt with my boyfriend I tripped her.
“You little bitch your going to pay for that,” Jessica said with acid that was obviously poisonous.
“Wow, big words,” I said with satisfactionAll of a sudden she burst out crying while everyone else burst out laughing, until Mr. Hathaway called the class to order.
Then the bell rang, excusing me to go to assembly. Then after the assembly I would get to see if Jason and I got the roles.
The assembly lasted a half an hour. I ran up to the bulletin board. My heart pounding with energy, but I knew I didn’t get the part because I heard Jessica said “yesssss”. I still ran up to check. O.M.G. Jason and Jessica got the leading roles. Then it happened. Without even thinking I ran to the old abandoned movie theatre. Once again I had gotten there with immaculate speed. Then I realized that I was at the abandoned movie theatre, just when I figured it out this was where the voice told me to go. Then I heard a whisper telling me to go in. It smelt like rust and salt. It was damp, moldy, and broken. The ceiling was caving in, the walls were crumbling, and one wall looked as if it could fall down at any minute. I stayed focused. The voice came back and said to go to the back room. I did as it said. Back there I found a file about my parents, weird mythical creatures, and odd special powers. The day seemed as if to drone on and on. Then I saw it. The page had names on it. Off the page I read Maria Sarahfelli-which, Ean Sarahfelli-shadow. I didn’t know what they meant, but I put two and two together and realized they were probably powers they had. Then I heard it, the voice saying to turn the page. So I did it had my name with five very disturbing words. Those words are three different powers all unknown. Then there was mention of a prophecy, and a mix in family and breed. I got so mad I wanted to scream bloody murder! I let out a little screech as the earth below my feet began to shake. The wall crumbled, the ceiling crumbled down, and I was just standing there like an idiot. A piece of the ceiling came crashing down. And once again like an idiot I just put my hands up protecting my face. Next everything looked like slow motion on a movie, and when the piece of cement reached me time sped up and the cement bounced of me. It was as if I had protected myself with a force field. I laughed out loud. I have read too much of that paper. I must have just been seeing things. I left the building with a numb and horrid feeling. When I exited the building I realized that it was dark. I called Jules once I had walked back to school. I decided not to let anyone know about my fiasco in the theatre. Especially since the theatre was the only one affected by the earthquake. Well those weren’t the only reasons, Jules was mad is it is, but she would have been furious if she picked me up at the theatre. I was in drama so I made myself cry when I heard her pull up. I told her that Jessica and Jason got the leading roles. And that Jessica was after him. She got all-sympathetic, which she didn’t wear well because she didn’t know how to be sympathetic.
I didn’t dare say that to her face. Jessica I was not afraid of, but Jules well lets just say she’s my personal kryptonite.
When we got home I went to my room in a sluggish way, all of that sleep deprivation must have finally caught up with me. So I put on my headphones on, cranked up the volume on my iPod, put it on shuffle, and tried to go to sleep. That didn’t work so I played the same four songs, until I at least could sing to the chorus. Then you can guess what happened. That voice came back. This time I spoke aloud.
“What do you want?” I said commandingly.
“To help you. You need my help. There is so much you don’t know about yourself,” the voice in my head said.
“What are you talking about? I said in a voice that secretly said I don’t think I should have asked that.
“Just meet me at the House Of Change!” That voice said in an angry, scary, and serious voice.
“House of what?” I said sarcastically.
“Uh, the old abandoned apartment building in San Francisco,” that voice said matching my sarcasm.
“When should I leave?” I said with a sigh.
“One a.m. Back your bag. Oh, and make it light the bus doesn’t come until 6:00 am, so your walking to the Sacramento Airport.”
Chapter 2
So I grabbed three tank tops, two short sleeved shirts, one long sleeved shirt, a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, pajamas, my bathroom essentials, my IPod, cell phone, and my under garments. I put my stuff in my rolling backpack; I put on my sneakers, and headed out. I went down the staircase avoiding all the creaky steps. Then I realized that I forgot my money, so I ran up the stairs, got my stiletto heals, and pulled my 500 hundred dollars out of the toe. Then I ran back down stairs only to find, Jules!
“Where are you going?” Jules said in a way I don’t know how to describe.
“I-I-I was going to go to Bella’s house?” I said like a question.
“Go back to bed now before I make you,” she said in an assertive voice. I ran up the stairs, to my bedroom. Then it hit me. We were on the second floor, which meant that I could go out my window. That’s just what I did. My window was 20 by 20 inches; I knew I could fit through it without effort. So I threw my bag out the window, I didn’t know how far of a drop it was until I heard a thud. It was about a 25-foot drop, I’d be fine. I shimmied through the window, then in mid air bent my knees, and landed perfectly. I grabbed my bag and headed off. It was midnight; I was in a jog when he, he meaning that voice that I decided was a boy, said “good just keep heading down highway 12.” I didn’t respond. I just kept going, until I became hungry. Then he said, “take a right, then go down Broadway, there will be an Italian restaurant on your left. I ate there, surprised that they were open. Then I saw it, a bus stop, and it had a bus schedule taped on it. A bus was coming in a half hour! I thought really hard to myself hoping that he would hear me, I’m going to wait here, I’m going to wait here, I’m going to wait here.
“No! He said with that aggravated tone. So I kept walking. I came across an alley that had a poor little kitten stuck in a dumpster. So I went to help it, when I did there were four men at the end of the alley. And well with what I was wearing can you guess what they thought I was?
“Shouldn’t you be on the streets, working?” Asked a tall dark haired man, who looked about 20. So naturally I replied with a sarcastic comment.
“Shouldn’t you be at home with your big assed slut of a girlfriend?” I replied.
“Feisty, that comment isn’t well suited considering…’’ he said in what was supposed to be seductive voice.
“I’m not a hooker! I said with my teeth clenched. And suddenly I threw my hands in the air and yelled some unfamiliar words. Just like that they all shot back, like an invisible sling shot was triggered when in said those words. Then a figure, a little taller than me appeared out of thin air.
“Alex Maria Sarahfelli, I have come to take you to the house of change. There your twin brother, Justin Vicktor Sarehfelli will explain everything to you, the figure said.”
“Who are you, I whispered.”
“I am Guardian Bangkowski, the figure said.”
The man called guardian Bangkowski was a tall, slim, handsome man with brown hair and blue eyes. In an outfit, that you would not see everyday. He wore a tight black shirt that fit him nicely. But the strange thing about the shirt was that in silver there was an image of a man holder a sword. That was the image on the pendent I had had for as long as I could remember. The one and only thing I had left of my mother.
“Come with me child we do not have all day to marvel over things in our heads, he said in a polite but demanding tone.
“Okay. How do we get to the House of Change? I said very blandly.
“Ah, silly young teenage girls! We don’t go to the House of Change; we let the house come to us. Sound good to you?” He said in a stern voice. His voice some how managed to be inviting all the time. He became my total god! Then I realized god that voice in my head could probably hear me.
Then Guardian Bangkowski cleared his throat drawing my attention to the living, breathing, eating god who needed my attention more than my thoughts about that god.
“Yeah, sure, but this I going to sound stupid. But how can we let a house come to us?” I said like a dumb blonde, no offence to my friend Zoey who is naturally blond.
“How do you think, or know how to breathe, or speak?” You just do, he said in a voiced that would have been fit for Romeo.
“Alright. If you say so, but your going to have to do better than that. Do we just think about the house?” I asked tensely.
“I see we are dealing with a natural, of course, now concentrate,” he said very tightly. I nodded. I concentrated on just the possibility that I did have a twin brother. And the possibility that he might be waiting for me right now! But I also concentrated on the fact that if I really do have a twin waiting for me at the House of Change. What a coincidence, the House of Change could just happen to change my life forever, LOL. I now realized how much the natural girl in me is starting to show. And I now mentally apologize. The natural girl in me must have been resurrected by the hotness of Bangkowski.
“Alex, you can open your eyes now we are here. Alex?” Bangkowski said. But I wasn’t responding because I had just realized one thing, which triggered the memory of another.
First this was the place where I had the dream of my mother and the strange man, Dr. Philer. And that triggered me to grab the only thing I had left of my mother, the pendent that she gave me. It was an amber stone. Encased in bronze, with a picture of a man holding a sword engraved in gold on the back. Also there was a saying engraved in it. “The best way to go is with dignity. So remember never give up, always keep your dignity, and you will be triumphant, in death or life. So as I was saying, I reached down for my pendent, and it wasn’t there! I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t think, I couldn’t respond, and worst of all I thought my heart had shattered.
“Alex, Alex, ALEX!” Bangkowski stammered as I grew paler, and paler, and paler. My vision went blurry, and I herd someone approaching.
“Sire, she won’t respond. Do you know what is wrong?” Bangkowski asked with servitude. The mysterious sire didn’t respond. He just took a few steps back, picked something up off the ground, walked over to me, and then he slipped something over my neck.
“Bring her to her room. She shall return to her normal color and to her normal behavior momentarily,” the sire said casually relieved.
_______________________________
The sire was right. In five minutes I awoke, Strangely with my pendent around my neck. I was in a room with a full sized bed, a small desk, a nightstand, a mini refrigerator, a mirror, and two doors that I had yet to open. One door led to a walk in closet. With shelves, drawers, hangers, and nice light. The other door led to a fabulous bathroom. That included all of the essential things. And the other not so essential things like, granite counter tops, blow dryer, hair curler, flat iron, the best hair care products, nail polish, and make up. I soon realized that the entire make up was mine. I went back to the room with the bed. And there were suitcases full of things. Things that were mine, things I left at home. I walked out a door that led down a dark hallway with light brown wooden walls, and a red carpet, sort of like what the superstars walk on. I looked left, dead end, but the right wasn’t. So I headed towards the right. I ran into a man. A man exactly my height, with my same eye colors, which is very rare considering my eyes have green brown and red in them.
“I’m Justin,” he said. I cut him off after those words.
“You’re my brother, my twin brother. You’re the voice in my head?” I said as if I was confronting him of homicide.
“Yes, I am your twin brother and the voice in your head. Welcome to the House of Change,” he said in a voice that was trying to lighten the mood.
“Well I’ve been here no longer than a half hour and my life has already changed forever. What did guardian Bangkowski mean you would explain everything to me? And how the hell did we just think our way here? Also how have I not met you before? And…” my voice trailed off as he began to speak.
“Two thing Madam, one you address everyone by their first name, not by rank. Second, let me answer before you begin to ramble!” he said sternly, ”Now to answer your questions, I think you should sit down before we begin.” I followed him out of the hallway. We went into a big room crowded with people who looked just like any other crowd. There were big pillar the color of mahogany, and the floors were covered with jet-black carpet, the walls were a deep rustic orange. There was also a very fancy mahogany podium with a man in a jet-black suit on; he also had a blood red suit on. He was probably the concierge; along with what ever they call the person who checks you in to a hotel. I hadn’t realized I stopped walking until I heard Justin’s voice urging me to hurry up. It wasn’t until then that people had started bowing down to me. Saying all kinds of crazy words. One man even grabbed my hand and asked me to marry him! That went on until we reached a brown door that clashed with the décor. Once we were inside I knew what it was. It was an office of some sort. I presume that it was Justin’s office.
“Okay, sit this is a very long story. It all started 16 years ago today the day that we were born, and it was the day our mother died. She gave birth to us, the mixed twins that would one day save our world. Everyone in this building is not normal, they are supernatural’s. Vampires, shadows, seekers, witches, wizards, if you can think of it its here. We are special because there is a shadow lord who has some followers. The Lord of Shadows is said to rise and try to become ruler of our kingdom. We are destined to stop him. We are mixes, which means our family has mixed blood. Our mom was a Witch, dad a Shadow, Jules was a Seeker, uncle Jay is a Dreamer, and aunt D is a Necromancer. You will be part Vamp, a Dreamer, a Witch, a Shadow, and a Necromancer. You will also have all the senses of a Seeker,” he said nervously.
“What are you?” I asked in a whisper.
“I’m a much weaker version of you except I don’t have any Wizard or Dreamer blood,” he said sadly.
“Why were people bowing to me?” I said sort of smugly.
“Because people were not sure if you really existed. Without you and me our kingdom would have certain death,” he said now a little hot headedly.
“You say our kingdom. As if you and I rule. Is that why we address people by their first name and not there rank?” I asked feeling glad I remembered all of that.
“Why, you catch on quite fast. Everything you just said is true. Now it is three a.m. you must go to bed,” he said bossily. He turned right as I was telling him to wait.
“I have one more question,” I said embarrassingly, he nodded, “the things in my room did someone go back to my house to get them?”
“No, remember we have magic on our side,” he said sarcastically. He nodded, turned his head, and I watched him walk away and turn into distant nothingness as the night overtook him.
Chapter 3
I managed to find my way back to my room. Where I opened a suitcase pulled out my pair of fluffy Happy Bunny pajamas. Then I went to the bathroom, got a toil from my closet, added some shampoo to some running water that was way to hot, undressed, and slowly slipped into the tub while getting used to the water. I took the time to ponder over everything Justin had said. “It had to be true” I repeated to myself over and over again. There was no other possibly explanation. The running to school, the man and girl, the voice in my head, and the guys in the alley. It was all starting to add up. I arose out of the now cold water looking like a prune. I dried myself off, got into my pajamas, and went to jump on the bed, only to see a pair of pacing feet at my door. I slipped on my bunny slippers, and opened the door. I was surprised to find Guardian Bangkowski standing there.
“What are you doing here?” I said a little too loudly.
“Did you listen to a word your brother said?” he asked sourly, “You didn’t think that with you being a Princess of this kingdom you would understand that…” his words were lost with the shouting of mine.
“What do you mean princess, he just said we were rulers, is he a king?” I asked a little irked.
“You are the rulers, you are a Princess, and him a Prince, the prophesy says that the first one of you to find true love will be the true ruler,” he said honorably, “Also there is a part of the prophesy said to be lost over time.”
“I still don’t get what you doing here,” I said snottily.
“Think what do all royalty have,” he asked sarcastically. I shrugged. He gave a big sigh, and said “Protection, I’m one of two of your permanent guardians.” I laughed took three steps back into my room, and then slammed the door. I didn’t need protection; Jules had made me take Ty Kwan Do for years. I had mastered three martial arts, Karate, Ty Kwan Do, and some foreign one whose name I couldn’t remember. All the boys at school had been afraid of me since the fourth grade! When I was in sixth grade I could make an eighth grade boy go running into the girls bathroom crying for his mom. I ruled the school. Up until one day a boy finally asked me out in eighth grade. A boy I raised hell on so many times. And I was touched that he had the courage to face me. After that I never hurt a boy unless they hurt me. And I’ve been with Jason Conroy ever since then. And then I felt it hit me, as if I’d been struck by lightning, I felt my eyes start to sag with exhaustion. I got to my bed, jumped on, and was out before my head hit the pillow.
______________________________
I awoke in the morning with a stiff neck from sleeping on it. I decided to look at the rest of the things that had been magically teleported from my house. I found every dress I owned. I picked out a very tight clingy black dress that went to about four to six inches above my knees. That wasn’t even short compared to what some of the girls wore to junior prom. I grabbed some Stiletto heals that had also been teleported. Afterwards I did my hair and make up in my wonderful bathroom. I walked out of my bathroom, placed my pendent on top of my dress, and only to see more pacing steps outside my door. I opened the door and opened my mouth to yell at the Guardian, when I saw his face. It wasn’t the guardian, it was my brother.
“Hello, good morning,” he said cheerfully.
“Hey, good morning to you to. What are you doing here?” I asked.
“Your second assigned Guardian is on business, so I covered for him.”
“You’re a Prince, why don’t you have Guardians?”
“I do, they are posted down the hall.”
“Oh, may I meet them?”
“Later when we aren’t training.”
“What do you mean training? I’m a black belt in three different martial arts. I do not think I need more training, at least not by you,” I said with a smirk on my face.
“So, if I attacked you right now would you go now?” he said I nodded. He ran up to me put his foot in between my chest and my neck, but I played that to my advantage. I put my shoulders together in front of me and fell back. Followed by me doing a back flip into a crouched position on my feet. I through a punch that was caught by his fist, I faked a knee to his stomach, and then I drew my elbow into his rib cage. Next I grabbed his arm, did a 360 while holding his arm, and I pulled his arm into a position that I could easily break it. I put my foot to his tailbone, and pushed him onto the ground. There how's that? I asked him arrogantly. Right as he swiped at my feet, but luckily thanks to my cat like reflexes I jumped. I struggled with him a little bit more, until finally I got him into a headlock. I squeezed his head until I heard the one word I had been waiting to hear, mercy! I hopped onto the floor next to him and started
Laughing. We stayed there pointing at each other for a couple of minutes, then we were interrupted by I assume one of his guardians.
“Sire, if the madam is awake then shouldn’t we best be going then? Breakfast will be served in ten short minutes. Everyone will have questions about her,” the dark haired man with two blue eyes and a casual attire on said.
“Guardian Andrix, this is Alexia,” my big bro said.
“ALEX!” I yelled, “I go by Alex.” The Guardian bowed at my feet, picked up my hand kissed it, and mumbled some words.
“Well madam, it is my pleasure to meet you. Everyone is so happy; we thought you would never show. What colors do you want for your Celebrazione?” he asked excitedly.
“She doesn’t know yet!” my brother spat out through his teeth.
“Know what?” I asked awkwardly.
“The Celebrazione is Italian for celebration, it’s a customary tradition for new residenza in our kingdom,” he said worriedly.
“Cele-what, resi-who?” I asked in awe.
“Residenza means residence in Italian. You have to except the offer from the Leage Dei Troni to be in the throne and competition," my brother said as if he were
sighing the whole time, "You have to make a choice to stay here or be rid of your powers. It is up to you decide, but we best be off to breakfast. As Andrix has said people will wonder. He said wonder very creepily. My brother had just given me the heeby jeebies. Then my brother took me down the same hall I had gone down the day before. Except this time before we got to the big lobby room, we took a left, and were in a room that had a line, leading to a buffet!
There were pancakes, waffles, cereal, eggs, toast, orange juice, apple juice, and bacon. I saw much more as I eagerly hopped to the end of the line. But just as students do for teachers, as soon as everyone saw me they bowed and stepped aside for me to go ahead. They mumbled the same words as Gaurdian Andrix said to me. Except this time I actually caught what they were saying. They said dignità da trionfare non morte. I tuned to my brother who gently pushed me forward.
“What does dignità da trionfare non morte mean?” I asked
“Dignity to triumph not death,” he whispered. I was pondering what that saying could mean, when Jason walked in! I ran out of the line, through the crowd, over a table, and into Jason’s arms.
Only to be blocked by probably the same “spell” that I accidentally used on the four guys in the alley. Except this time I was taken down by not two or three, but four grown men. But all went as it did that morning with my brother, I won. My brother was laughing so hard.
“So I take it you were going easy on me this morning,” my brother said. I smiled the men were about to attack again but my brother ordered them to stop.
“Don’t you recognize who this is?” my Brother asked. The men shook their heads. A young girl stepped out of the audience.
“I suoi suoi shes qui infine,” the young girl said.
“vostro parlare del profetizzare” I said.
“Si,” she said.
“The child knows,” my Brother said.
“The child said its her she’s here finally,” I said, “I am Alexia Maria Sarahfelli, but I prefer Alex.
